SOME BEATITUDES FROM THE BOOK OF REVELATION

Introduction

1.  The Gospel accounts of our Savior’s life are not the only books

in which one can find beatitudes.

2.  The book of Revelation contains some characteristics that will

help us to attain a blessed life.

  I.  “Blessed is he that readeth and they that hear the words of

this prophecy, and keep those things which are written

therein:  for the time is at hand” (1:3).

       A.  Ironically today a lot of people skip the book of

             Revelation.

       B.  It was written, however, to strengthen Christians facing

             great persecution.

       C.  The term “book” no doubt expands to include the entire

             Bible.

       D.  Read John 13:17.

II.  “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord” (14:13).

       A.  God, through Christ, takes away the sting of death (1 Cor.

             15:55-58).

       B.  Read Psalm 116:15 and 2 Timothy 4:6-8.

III.  “Behold, I come quickly:  blessed is he that keepeth the

sayings of the prophecy of this book” (22:7).

        A.  The closing command demands action.

        B.  Compare Luke 11:28.

        C.  The Lord’s coming will be sudden.

        D.  Will He find you ready?
