HER DAY

 

  I.  Hannah

       A.  Hannah had the heart of a mother even when she was

             childless (1 Sam. 1:5-8).

       B.  Hannah’s prayers for a son were answered (1 Sam. 1:9-19).

       C.  Hannah’s promise regarding her son was not neglected

             (1 Sam. 1:20-2:2)

 

 II.  Esther

       A.  She was an object of God’s providence (Est. 4:14).

       B.  How many mothers have been at the right place at the right

             time?

 

III.  Ruth

       A.  Think of her loyalty (Ruth 1:16).

       B.  We are in need of more mothers with such loyalty.

 

IV.  Deborah

       A.  She was a “mother in Israel” (Jud. 5:7).

       B.  She was respected by the community (Jud. 4:4, 5).

       C.  Her courage is hard to imagine and even harder to

             duplicate (Jud. 4:6-8).

 

 V.  Anna

       A.  This faithful woman was a consistent servant of God

             (Lk. 2:36, 37)

       B.  How many mothers follow her example?

 

VI.  Yielding Woman of Proverbs 31

       A.  This woman was truly sacrificial.

             1.  She was trustworthy (v. 11).

             2.  Consider her work ethic (v. 15, 27).

             3.  She was an honor to her family (v. 20, 23, 26).

      B.  She was given the title “virtuous” (v. 10).
