Friendly Fire

 

Introduction

1.  In wars, comrades sometimes unknowingly and accidentally

     shoot at one another.  This mishap is known as friendly fire.

2.  From time to time, there is friendly fire among the Lord’s army.

 

  I.  Unscriptural Judgments

       A.  There are some judgments that we are commanded to

             make.

             1.  John 7:24

             2.  1 Corinthians 5:3

             3.  Matthew 7:6, 15

       B.  There are some judgments that we must not make.

             1.  We must avoid judging by appearance (John 7:24).

             2.  We must avoid judging motives.

 

 II.  Fault Finding

       A.  Some people are not happy unless they are complaining

             (Luke 7:33-35).

       B.  We should examine ourselves (2 Corinthians 13:5) more

             than we examine others.

 

III.  Indifference

       A.  We must not be indifferent about our influence

             (Matthew 5:13-16).

       B.  We must not be indifferent about our commitment

             (Romans 6:1-5).

       C.  We must not be indifferent about our duty (Ecc. 12:13).

 

IV.  Lack of Support

       A.  God expects us to support one another (Acts 20:35;

             Galatians 6:2).

       B.  God expects us to support the church (1 Cor. 16:1, 2).

       C.  God expects us to support the truth (1 Timothy 3:15).
