AT THE TEMPLE
Acts 3:1-10
I. A Hopeless Case (vv. 1, 2)
A. This man was lame from birth.
B. One wonders how many doctors and “faith-healers” had
tried to restore this man.
C. He could not walk; he had to be carried.
D. A picture of pity is seen in this man’s being reduced to
begging for alms.
II. A Hopeful Cry (v. 3)
A. The lame man hoped to receive alms from Peter and John.
B. The Lord frequently exceeds our expectations.
C. The Lord does not only see who we are; He sees who we
can become.
III. A Hardy Command (vv. 4-6)
A. This lame man was given a series of commands to test his
faith.
1. He was told to look at Peter and John.
2. He was told to rise up and walk.
B. If this lame man would have been a typical liberal, he
would have told Peter and John that he believed and did
not need to do anything else.
IV. A Happy Conclusion (vv. 7-10)
A. There is no way to deny this happy conclusion.
B. This well-know lame man would now walk and leap.
C. Many who learned of his healing praised God.
