THE 20/20 VISION OF THE CHURCH (part 3)

Tips On Teaching

Acts 20:20

  I.  Be Compassionate

       A.  It’s said:  “People don’t care how much you know until the

             know how much you care.”

       B.  We must teach for the right reasons if we will be

             successful.

             1.  Our motivation must be to save souls (Matt. 28:18-20;

                   Eze. 3:17-21).

             2.  Some, however, teach just to gather a following for

                  their pet issues.

             3.  Some teach just to make others upset.

       C.  It is possible for one to teach that which is right but be

wrong in the way he teaches it (1 Cor. 13:1).  No one

should ever be able to question our love of souls.

 II.  Be Careful

       A.  James sounds a clear warning (Jas. 3:1).

       B.  Words cannot be taken back after they are said.

       C.  I had a teacher who always said to his students:  “Don’t

             quote me from your notes!”

             1.  A person’s words are not always heard as they were

                   intended.

             2.  At times people hear what they want to hear.

III.  Be Creative

       A.  We must not change our message (Rev. 22:18, 19).

       B.  Radio, internet, and TV are ways of getting our message

             out.

       C.  Always search for ways to evangelize.
