General Introduction to the Old & New Testament

PURPOSE:
In this course we will do a general overview of the Old and New Testaments. We will also cover the intertestamental period which is about 400 years between Malachi and Matthew

Bible King James Version (Required)
Introduction to the Old and New Testaments by Max Patterson (Recommended)

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
Each student is to keep a notebook to include class notes
Memory verses are due throughout the semester according to the schedule
There will be two tests in the course
TESTS AND ASSIGNMENTS:
The memory work assignments are found on the syllabus. Each student will type them out from memory into an email, put the grade in the subject line and send it to the instructor before the start of class on the assigned due date.
Two tests: One test will be given at the end of the OT. This test will also include information from the intertestamental period. The second test will be given at the end of the NT at the end of the semester.
After each class, the student is required to type up a minimum of one paragraph discussing what was covered for each session
GRADING:
Memory work will count for 40% of your final grade
Paragraphs will count for 10% of your final grade
Test will count as 50% of your final grade
COURSE SCHEDULE:
Classes meet each Saturday for 18 sessions at 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM CTZ. Each class will be 50 minutes in length with a 10 minute break between classes. Two breaks total will be taken over the course of the semester.
